Carnaval, Copacabana and Ipanema – maybe another time!

As president of the International Radiosurgery Society, Ian (QSRC, Chief Physicist) took a central role in the Society’s Congress, recently held in Rio de Janeiro (9-13, June) which brought together many of the leading experts and practitioners of SRS/SBRT from around the globe to share their knowledge, best practice and to look at the future for SRS/SBRT.

Also attending and contributing was Dr Alex Dimitriadis (QSRC, Senior Physicist)

Making contributions to the SRS/SBRT Education Course, presenting on various topics together with chairing/moderating various sessions, Ian was very busy sharing his expertise and experience on topics including planning, QA and Imaging, standardisation of SRS and Variations in dose According to Planning Philosophy.Alex moderated and presented on various abstracts (co-authored) as part of the oral sessions on topics including technological considerations for small brain metastases;  extracranial dose measurements in paediatric patients receiving radiosurgery and the risk of radiation-induced malignancy; and IntiutivePlan inverse planning performance evaluation for arteriovenous malformations.

The 14th biennial Congress and Exhibition of the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society will take place in Brisbane, Australia, May 30-June 03, 2021.
